I'm curious about Jiri's experimentation. Is there new camera equipment? I'm guessing he's experimenting with technical improvements, but I'm not sure it's necessarily working. Quality is pretty good, but IMHO not quite as good as before, and the file sizes seem bigger. Maybe it's my imagination?

CRITICAL1,I have noticed a recent problem with video quality vs videos from a few months ago as well. The file sizes have increased and the video sometimes appears dark and grainy so it is probably not your imagination.

The only change that happened was in the encoding process about 3 weeks ago, I noticed that the files are larger now, I will ask Jiri about it.

OK, our apology - since October 27 the updated software encoded the files with an unnecessarily high bitrate. As a result the files are at least twice too big and streaming may be problematic. This will be fixed starting (hopefully) with the update for Wednesday.

As for general quality, there haven't been any changes, Jiri is just using a bit more contrast because that's the way he likes it. But I believe the changes are subtle.

This particular update has been encoded to the right format already.

About 9 updates were too big (from late October to mid November), 3 of them were re-encoded, 6 remain untouched because we don't have the master files anymore.
